# Build with AI agents

URL: https://www.atmee.ai/docs/v2/agents

> Make an Atmee avatar by chatting with Claude, or have your coding agent build an app around one.

You can make an Atmee avatar without opening Studio: tell an AI assistant what you want, and it
builds the avatar with you, step by step. Developers can go further and have their coding agent
build a whole app or website around the avatar.

## Make an avatar by chatting

For anyone, no code needed. Describe the avatar you want, a receptionist for your clinic or a
guide for your product, and Claude asks for a name, a photo and a voice, shows you the avatar
talking, and helps you give it a character.

- [claude.ai](/docs/v2/agents/skills/install#claude-ai): Add Atmee to Claude in your browser.
- [Claude Desktop](/docs/v2/agents/skills/install#claude-code): Install Atmee in the Claude app on your computer.

## Build an app around one

For developers. Your coding agent makes the avatar, plans the app with you and writes the code:
a backend that starts conversations, a page that shows the avatar, and the tools it can use.

- [Claude Code](/docs/v2/agents/skills/install#claude-code): The plugin: skills and the MCP server in one install.
- [Codex](/docs/v2/agents/skills/install#codex): The same plugin for OpenAI's Codex.
- [Cursor](/docs/v2/agents/skills/install#cursor): The plugin for Cursor, alone or for a team.
- [Other MCP clients](/docs/v2/agents/mcp-server/install): Connect any client that speaks MCP to the server.

## The three parts

* **Agent skills.** Guided flows your agent follows: one makes an avatar, one plans an app, one
builds it. The plugin installs all of them, and the MCP server, in one step. See
  [Agent skills](/docs/v2/agents/skills).
* **The MCP server.** The tools the agent calls to make and change avatars, take your uploads and
start conversations. Any MCP client can use it. See [MCP server](/docs/v2/agents/mcp-server).
* **The CLI.** The same work from a terminal or a script, with `atmee` commands. See
  [CLI](/docs/v2/cli).

Pick the plugin if your agent supports it (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor): you get the skills and the
server together. Use the MCP server alone in other clients, and the CLI when you'd rather type
commands or script them.

## Before you start

* **An Atmee account.** You sign in to it from your agent the first time it connects.
* **Credits** for the steps that cost them: generating portraits and voices, and conversation
minutes. The agent always tells you the price and asks before it spends anything. See
  [pricing](https://www.atmee.ai/pricing).
* **v2 access.** The newest avatars (v2) are invite-only for now. Give your invite code to the agent and
  it redeems it, or redeem it on the [API page in Studio](https://www.atmee.ai/studio/api-keys);
without one, the agent offers to make a v1 avatar instead.
