# Make an avatar (create-avatar)

URL: https://www.atmee.ai/docs/v2/agents/skills/create-avatar

> The skill that builds a talking avatar with you: a name, a photo and a voice, then its character and a test.

## What it does

`create-avatar` builds an avatar with you by chatting: you see it talk within minutes, then give
it a character and test it. It works in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and claude.ai, and picks up
where you left off if you stop halfway.

## Start it

```text
Make a receptionist avatar for our dental clinic. She greets patients and answers questions about opening hours and insurance.
```

## What it walks you through

1. **A name, a photo and a voice.** Bring your own (a front-facing photo, and a 10 to 60 second
   voice recording), or have the agent generate them from a description. It checks your photo
   and tells you if it won't animate well.
2. **See it talk.** Atmee makes a short talking clip of the avatar. If the lips don't move well,
   the agent makes another, and you choose.
3. **The character.** The agent asks who the avatar is and what it's for, then drafts its
   instructions, greeting and limits. You can sharpen them over a few rounds.
4. **Test it.** You get a chat link and a few questions to ask it, then one round of fixes for
   anything that drifted.
5. **Ready.** You get the avatar's chat link and its page in Studio.

## Credits

Generating a portrait, enhancing your photo or designing a voice costs credits. Before each one,
the agent tells you the price and your balance and waits for your yes. With your own photo and
voice, making the avatar spends nothing. See [pricing](https://www.atmee.ai/pricing).

## v2 access

The skill makes v2 avatars, which are invite-only for now. If your account has no access, it
offers to make a v1 avatar instead. Have an invite code? Give it to the agent and it redeems it for
you, or redeem it on the [API page in Studio](https://www.atmee.ai/studio/api-keys).

## What you have at the end

A private, ready-to-chat avatar with a character, a link to talk to it, and its page in Studio,
where you can make it public or share it.
