# Install the skills

URL: https://www.atmee.ai/docs/v2/agents/skills/install

> Add the atmee skills to Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, claude.ai or any agent that reads skills.

In Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, the `atmee` plugin installs the five [skills](/docs/v2/agents/skills)
and connects the [MCP server](/docs/v2/agents/mcp-server) in one step. On claude.ai you upload the five
skills and add the server as a connector.

## Install

Pick your agent:

### Claude Code

Works the same in the terminal, in your IDE and in the Claude Desktop app.

**Install with one line.** Paste this into Claude Code:

```text
Set up atmee for me by following INSTALL_FOR_AGENTS.md in the GitHub repo Atmanity/toolkit.
```

Claude installs the plugin and stops only for the two steps that need you: loading the plugin and
signing in. It finishes with a check that says "All set" and shows your credit balance.

**Or install it yourself:**

```bash
claude plugin marketplace add Atmanity/toolkit
claude plugin install atmee@atmee
```

Then, in Claude Code:

1. Run `/reload-plugins --force` to load the plugin without a restart.
2. Run `/mcp`, pick `atmee-avatars` and choose **Authenticate**.
3. Sign in on the "Connect an app to Atmee" page that opens, and allow access.

To update later, run `claude plugin marketplace update atmee`, then
`claude plugin update atmee@atmee`.

**Or with the skills CLI** (Node.js 22.20 or newer). It installs the skills only; the
`atmee-setup` skill adds the MCP server the first time you ask for an avatar:

```bash
npx -y skills add Atmanity/toolkit --skill '*' --agent claude-code --yes --global
```

**Claude Desktop.** The Claude Desktop app runs Claude Code in its **Code** tab. Start a **local**
session there (plugins don't load in cloud sessions) and paste the same line. Claude walks you
through loading the plugin and signing in, just as in the terminal.

### Codex

Works in the Codex CLI, the IDE extension and the desktop app.

**Install with one line.** Paste this into Codex:

```text
Set up atmee for me by following INSTALL_FOR_AGENTS.md in the GitHub repo Atmanity/toolkit.
```

Codex installs the plugin, asks you to restart it, then opens the sign-in page in your browser.

**Or install it yourself:**

```bash
codex plugin marketplace add https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit.git
codex plugin add atmee@atmee
```

Restart Codex (in the desktop app, quit it fully and reopen it), then sign in:

```bash
codex mcp login atmee-avatars
```

A sign-in page opens in your browser. Sign in, allow access, and return to Codex. If the login
times out, run it again.

To update later, run `codex plugin marketplace upgrade`, then `codex plugin add atmee@atmee`.

**Or with the skills CLI** (Node.js 22.20 or newer). It installs the skills only; the
`atmee-setup` skill adds the MCP server the first time you ask for an avatar:

```bash
npx -y skills add Atmanity/toolkit --skill '*' --agent codex --yes --global
```

### Cursor

For yourself or your whole team.

**Install with one line.** Paste this into Cursor's agent:

```text
Set up atmee for me by following INSTALL_FOR_AGENTS.md in the GitHub repo Atmanity/toolkit.
```

The agent copies the plugin into Cursor, asks you to restart Cursor, then to sign in.

**Or install it yourself, for a team.** An admin opens **Plugins > Import from Repo** in Cursor's
settings and imports `Atmanity/toolkit`. Members then install `atmee` from the team's plugins.

**Or for yourself.** Copy the plugin into Cursor's local plugins:

```bash
src="$(mktemp -d)"
git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit.git "$src/toolkit"
mkdir -p ~/.cursor/plugins/local
rm -rf ~/.cursor/plugins/local/atmee
cp -R "$src/toolkit/plugins/atmee" ~/.cursor/plugins/local/atmee
rm -rf "$src"
```

Run it again later to update to the latest version.

Then restart Cursor, open **Settings > MCP** and sign in to `atmee-avatars`.

**Or with the skills CLI** (Node.js 22.20 or newer). It installs the skills only; the
`atmee-setup` skill adds the MCP server the first time you ask for an avatar:

```bash
npx -y skills add Atmanity/toolkit --skill '*' --agent cursor --yes --global
```

### claude.ai

Claude in your browser, no code needed. Two steps, about five minutes, once.

**1. Add the skills.** Download these five files:

* [create-avatar.zip](https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit/releases/latest/download/create-avatar.zip):
  makes an avatar with you.
* [plan-avatar-app.zip](https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit/releases/latest/download/plan-avatar-app.zip):
  turns an idea for an app into a one-page plan.
* [atmee-product.zip](https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit/releases/latest/download/atmee-product.zip):
  answers what Atmee can do and which option fits your idea.
* [build-avatar-app.zip](https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit/releases/latest/download/build-avatar-app.zip):
  writes the code for an app around your avatar.
* [atmee-setup.zip](https://github.com/Atmanity/toolkit/releases/latest/download/atmee-setup.zip):
  checks the connection, your account and your credits when something is off.

Then, in claude.ai, turn on code execution in **Settings > Capabilities** (called **Create and
edit files** in the newer settings). Upload each file in **Customize > Skills**: choose **+**,
then **Create skill**, then **Upload a skill**.

**2. Connect Atmee.** Open **Settings > Connectors** and add a custom connector named
**Atmee avatars**, with this address:

```text
https://api.atmanity.us/mcp
```

**For a whole team (Team or Enterprise).** An owner can add the five skills once for everyone:
in **Organization settings > Plugins & skills**, choose **Add > Upload a skill** for each file.
Members still add the connector themselves, or an owner adds it under **Organization settings >
Connectors**.

The first time Claude uses Atmee in a chat, it asks you to connect: sign in to your Atmee account on
the "Connect an app to Atmee" page and allow access.

**How claude.ai differs:**

* **Nothing is saved to files.** Claude posts a short summary after each step instead. Copy
  anything you want to keep.
* **You upload your own photo or voice through a link.** Open it and choose the file, or record
  your voice right in the browser. Claude notices when it arrives.
* **You watch the clips yourself.** Claude shares links to each talking clip rather than judging
  them for you.
* **Claude asks in the chat before every paid step**, with no separate permission prompt.

### Other agents

Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Cline, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and other agents that read skills can install
them with the skills CLI (Node.js 22.20 or newer):

```bash
npx -y skills add Atmanity/toolkit --skill '*' --agent <agent-id> --yes --global
```

Use your agent's id, such as `windsurf`, `github-copilot`, `cline`, `gemini-cli` or `opencode`.
The first time you ask for an avatar, the `atmee-setup` skill adds the MCP server to your agent and
tells you which file it changed. To connect the server yourself, see
[Install the MCP server](/docs/v2/agents/mcp-server/install).

## Make your first avatar

Ask for one in your own words:

```text
Make a receptionist avatar for our dental clinic. She greets patients and answers questions about opening hours.
```

The [create-avatar](/docs/v2/agents/skills/create-avatar) skill takes over. It asks for a name, a photo
and a voice clip (or offers to generate them), shows you the avatar talking, then helps you write
its character and test it.

Generating a portrait or a voice costs credits: the agent tells you the price and asks before each
one. See [pricing](https://www.atmee.ai/pricing). The newest avatars (v2) are invite-only for now;
without an invite, the agent offers to make a v1 avatar. Have a code? Give it to the agent and it
redeems it, or redeem it on the [API page in Studio](https://www.atmee.ai/studio/api-keys).

## If something is off

Run the setup skill: `/atmee:atmee-setup` in Claude Code, or ask any other agent to "run the
atmee-setup skill". It checks the sign-in, your account, your credits and updates, fixes what it
can and tells you the one step left for the rest. See [Set up](/docs/v2/agents/skills/atmee-setup).
