# Delete (soft) an avatar

`DELETE /v1/avatars/{avatarId}`

Soft-deletes the avatar: it disappears from the API at once and its
unfinished captures are cancelled. After the retention period every
file of the avatar -- every version's portrait, voice sample and
takes included -- is removed permanently.
