Build an app (build-avatar-app)
The skill that codes an app or website around your avatar: backend sessions, the call page, tools and an agenda.
What it does
build-avatar-app codes an app or website around an avatar in your project: a backend that starts
conversations, a page that joins the call, and, when the app needs them, tools the avatar can use
and an agenda it follows. It writes code, so it does most in a coding agent (Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) that can save files
into your project.
Start it
Build a page where shoppers talk to our product guide avatar, and let it add items to the cart.A brief from Plan an app makes a good start.
What it walks you through
- Pick the avatar, or make one first with Make an avatar.
- Shape the app from your brief, or from a few questions.
- Get an API key for your backend. The secret goes straight into your
.env, never the chat. - The backend: an endpoint that starts a session and hands your page a room to join.
- The page: joins the call and shows the avatar.
- Tools, when the avatar acts on your app: functions it can call, handled in your page.
- An agenda, when the conversation has steps to follow.
- Prove it live: a real conversation, checked end to end.
- Document and ship.
Credits
Conversations are billed per minute while they run, including the live test; the agent says so before it starts one. See pricing.
What you have at the end
A working app in your project, tested in a live conversation, with a README on how to run and deploy it. The API section documents what it calls.
