Preferred name

Your Preferred Name is what avatars call you during a conversation. Update it any time from Account, within a small weekly limit.

How to change your preferred name

  1. Open Account from your sidebar.
  2. Under Preferences, click the edit icon next to your name.
  3. In the Change Your Name dialog, enter a new Preferred Name.
  4. Click Update Name.

Name rules

  • 2 to 20 characters.
  • Letters, numbers, and spaces only.
  • Reserved brand names (Atmee, Atmanity) aren't allowed.

Weekly limit

You can change your name up to 2 times per week. The dialog shows how many changes you have left under Name Change Limit. When you hit the limit, the input is disabled until your oldest change is more than 7 days old — the dialog tells you the exact reset date.
