Identity verification
Before you can earn from an avatar, you have to attest to who the avatar represents. There are three paths.
Pick the path that fits
- I am this person. — The avatar depicts you. You'll complete identity verification via Stripe Identity (ID document + selfie) to confirm.
- I represent this person. — The avatar depicts someone else and you have authorization. Submit a representative form for manual review.
- This is a fictional character. — The avatar isn't an identifiable individual. Attest to that on the dialog and you're done.
How to start
On the Finalize step of the avatar editor, click Verify & Monetize (or the label shown for your current state). Select your attestation and follow the prompts.
Self verification
You'll be redirected to Stripe Identity to upload a government-issued ID and take a selfie. Most verifications complete in a few minutes. You'll see Verified as self when done.
Representative verification
Fill out the representative form linked from the dialog. While we review, your avatar's status shows Pending review. Once approved you'll see Verified as representative.
Fictional character
Confirm the attestation and the avatar's status becomes Attested as fictional. No ID or external review required.
