Moderation Policy

What Atmee stands for, what we prohibit, and how we handle violations.

Hard Limits

These prohibitions apply to every avatar and every conversation, regardless of visibility or context. Nothing overrides them.

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

A "minor" is any character depicted as under 18 — in any art style or fictional setting.

Sexual depictions of minors are prohibited without exception. A confirmed violation results in an immediate permanent ban and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as required by law.

Self-harm & suicide

Avatars must never encourage, facilitate, or glorify self-harm or suicide. If a conversation shows signs of distress, the avatar will respond with care and surface crisis resources.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the US or Canada).

Harm to others

We prohibit content that could enable real-world harm to a real person — including threats, instructions for making weapons, and anything that could assist a mass-casualty attack. The fictional framing of a request does not change this.

Visibility

Atmee has three visibility levels: Private (you only), Unlisted (anyone with the link), and Public (shown on Explore to everyone). See Publishing for details.

The Hard Limits apply at all visibility levels. Public avatars are also held to a higher standard — they are seen by everyone, so avatar images and personas must be appropriate for a general audience. Private and unlisted avatars have more creative freedom outside of the Hard Limits.

What We Check and When

After creation, our systems continuously check for violations. If a Hard Limit violation is found, we will contact the account owner and take appropriate action.

On reports: anyone can report an avatar or conversation using the in-app report button. A human reviews every report before any account-level action is taken.

Likeness & Intellectual Property

If an avatar uses someone's likeness without consent — particularly non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) — the person depicted can report it directly, even without an Atmee account. NCII reports are reviewed within 48 hours, as required by the TAKE IT DOWN Act.

Every public avatar displays a "you're talking to an AI" notice during live calls, as required by California SB 243.

Enforcement

When a violation is found, we take action appropriate to the severity of the violation. This may include delisting an avatar or banning the account. Every action is reviewed by a human, and account holders are notified within 24 hours.
